Cake Pans 101

We're all used to round, square or rectangular cake pans, but you don't see hexagon cake pans as often. Hexagon cake pans come in all sizes and are frequently sold as sets with varying sized pans so that you can make a layer cake. Consider also using hexagonal pans along with other shapes for a unique cake design. When you have a hexagon layer cake, the flat sides create a decorating opportunity for putting decorative elements such as hearts on each of the sides.
