Cake Pans 101

Checkerboard cake pans allow you to bake a cake with squares of different colors of cake inside that appear as a checkerboard pattern. With a checkerboard cake pan, there is a special batter dividing ring where you can pipe cake mix in order to make the checkerboard pattern. A checkerboard cake pan set usually consists of three pans and one or more dividers.
