Cake Pans 101

There are a variety of cake pans available on the market. Each is designed for a different purpose. There are round, square and rectangular shapes which have formed the basics of cake baking for years, but there are also a wide variety of shaped pans. There are pans that are shaped like hearts, stars, trucks, guitars, etc. and also cake pans that form a 3d effect such as character pans for such characters as Mickey Mouse, Spiderman and more. There are also bundt pans and springform pans and pans which allow filling to be placed inside the cake. The variety is enormous.
